Graduate Course Load Planning

Academic advisement will be provided for the student by their degree program's academic advisor and faculty program director. Advisors aid in selecting appropriate course sequences, registration and tracking students' progress throughout their academic career to ensure they're on track to graduate. Upon acceptance into the program, students are notified by admissions regarding any leveling or prerequisite work that needs to be completed.  Due to the rotation of courses in the graduate programs, once a course sequence is presented to the student any deviation from the plan could result in delayed graduation.  There is no guarantee that courses taken prior to admission will be approved as transfer credit and applicable to the degree plan or program.  Although the University seeks to provide continuing advisement, the student has ultimate responsibility for knowing and fulfilling degree requirements listed in the catalog.
