Refunds
NGU Refund Policy
To receive a refund, a student must officially withdraw from the university. Charges shall continue up to the day the student begins the official withdrawal process. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the Student Engagement Office to begin the official withdrawal process. This policy applies to all traditional undergraduate students and all terms of enrollment (i.e. commuters, residents, full-time, part-time, and summer school).
NGU Online or Graduate students should contact their Academic Advisor to begin the withdrawal process. The tuition refund schedule below also applies to NGU Online and Graduate students that choose to drop a course in any given term.
1. Tuition, housing, and meals (as applicable) will be refunded according to the following schedule:

2. There will be no refund of fees.
3. Federal funds shall be returned in accordance with federal policies at the time of withdrawal. Students withdrawing prior to completion of 60% of a semester may owe additional funds due to the loss of federal aid. 4. Institutional aid shall be prorated by the same schedule as mentioned in item #3 above.
5. Private scholarships will be used to pay any remaining balance, with any remaining funds returned to the organization, as appropriate.
6. Students who do not participate by the end of the 2nd week of class will be administratively withdrawn from the course/semester and will receive a 100% refund, if applicable.
Withdrawal Implications Example for 2024-2025 Academic Year
Scenario: Traditional undergraduate student is a full-time resident student with SC Tuition Grant, Pell Grant, Federal Direct Student Loan, and some institutional aid for a semester. Student withdraws during the third week of classes.
