SPTM-4302 Intercollegiate Sport Governance
The course will provide a comprehensive examination of the complex landscape of college athletics. Topics include structures, policies, and regulations of institutions, conferences, and the governing bodies. Discussions will expand on governance and oversight, conference realignment and its impacts, financial aspects of college athletics including revenue sharing models, NIL regulations, the role of private capital in athletics, and the increasing possibilities of athlete unionization.
