EDU-6303 Administration and Supervision in Literacy

This course is designed to provide literacy coaches and future literacy specialists with strategies for supervising reading and writing teachers. Students will learn how to identify issues with instructional strategies and develop professional development activities to support teacher improvement. Students will learn to recognize learning environments that promote effective reading for independent learning. They will investigate the principles of administration and supervision as they relate to teacher competence. They will learn to assess, inform, and monitor teachers’ progress in reading and writing.
