Early Childhood Education Teaching Certificate Program

The SC Certification for Early Childhood School Teachers certificate is designed for early childhood education teachers who possess a 4-year degree in Early Childhood Educational Studies. The purpose of this certificate program is to provide non-certified early childhood education teachers the opportunity to earn state certification in an empowering and supportive environment. Whether currently functioning in the classroom as aids, substitutes, or private school teachers, this certificate program will help students to prepare, become effective teachers, and earn state certification.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will receive an Early Childhood Education Certification Certificate from North Greenville University and South Carolina Department of Education State Certification in Early Childhood Education.

Acceptance into the Certificate Program will be based on the following: 

  • GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • a 4-year degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education
  • Passing scores on the Praxis PLT and Praxis II
