BUSN-5210 Business Statistics

A graduate level survey of major statistical techniques used in business and economics. The course has three primary objectives; 1) to familiarize students with the basic techniques, methodologies, and theories of statistical analysis; 2) to acquaint students with the various applications of statistical analysis to business problems; and 3) to introduce students to the role that computers and specialized software play in statistical analysis. Descriptive statistics, probability and random variables, sampling and statistical inference, regression analysis, chi-square analysis, and analysis of variance will be investigated. Students will learn through class lectures and a wide variety of problems which are worked in class and on homework assignments and on examinations.
