ENED-4310 English Language Arts Methods

The purpose of this course is to help candidates plan, implement, and assess learning. Candidates will learn the specific state standards in the English Language Arts and the NCTE content standards. They will become familiar with resources and other materials used to teach English in American secondary schools, develop methodologies that include all learning styles and diverse learning approaches, and develop assessment strategies that gauge student learning and teacher performance. Candidates will gain skills in planning unit lessons, implementing the lessons, and assessing student learning. A 30-hour field experience component is a requirement of this course.
