LING-3315 Semantics and Pragmatics

A study of meaning in language. The course examines what is meant by "meaning" and how humans get the meaning out of sounds, words, phrases, sentences, discourse, context, and other relevant factors. The core meaning, contextual meaning, and other nuances of meaning are examined. Some cognitive and semiotic issues may also be a part of this course.
