Sport Leadership and Coaching

Overview

The Sport Leadership and Coaching Minor seeks to develop future coaches who are transformational leaders for church and society by cultivating foundational knowledge essential for coaching any sport, emphasizing the development of athletes’ skills, and prompting enjoyment of participation and competition. The minor’s content covers technical and tactical aspects of sports, effective coaching methodology, organization of practice sessions, evaluation of athlete development, development of team culture, and development of long-term planning. Students will develop core coaching competencies which will prepare them to be successful and impactful coaches.
