Attendance Policy
Student Responsibilities | Faculty Responsibilities | Excessive Absences
The following are general guidelines pertaining to attendance:
1. North Greenville University is an attendance taking institution.
2. NGU offers traditional in-person classes (T).
3. NGU offers online classes (O).
4. There are three types of excused absences* : University, Medical, Family.
5. Students register for classes prior to or within the first week of a term.
6. Late enrollments, only during the second week of classes, must be approved by the Office of Academic Administration (OAA).
7. Faculty may not deviate from this policy.
8. A change in this policy may be necessary if an unforeseen situation occurs in an area out of the University's control (ie.: COVID-19, Federal or State mandates).
*University: An organization within NGU governance, such as, but not limited to: Athletics, NGU sponsored groups, Academic Excursions
Medical: A student medical condition supported by medical documentation
Family: A student’s immediate family (parents, siblings, children) absence related to death or a documented medical event.
