Fire Safety

Only authorized personnel may touch or work on fire safety equipment when in a non-emergency state. Tampering with fire safety equipment is prohibited. Fire alarms will only be pulled in the event of a fire emergency or authorized test. 

Students may not be responsible for any unauthorized fire in or on university property. Possessing any incendiary device (including fireworks) while on campus is prohibited. The sale, sharing, or use of any of these devices while on campus is also prohibited. Fireworks will only be used when formally authorized and qualified personnel are present and managing the use of the fireworks. Fireworks are often utilized during outside events and celebrations. Community members can expect noise from fireworks during these events without prior notice. If community members are ever concerned about noise on campus, they should submit a tip using the LiveSafe app. Campus Safety and Security will be able to respond to any tip to verify campus safety.
