CHST-1305 Jesus in Matthew's Gospel

An introduction to the person and work of Jesus as set along the timeline and thematic backdrop of the Gospel of St. Matthew. Various schools of thought that tried to explain the veracity of the New Testament's witness to Jesus are explored. The person of Jesus (fully divine and fully human), as well as his work (his mission and method) is studied. The immersion in the text of Matthew's Gospel will expose the significance of healings, parables, the Old Testament's relationship to the New Testament, and the significance Jesus has to contemporary life.
