ELED-3420 Instructional Practices in Reading

A comprehensive study of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in the elementary school. Language acquisition, language diversity, the foundations and relationships of the language arts, and instructional strategies to promote language learning and all taught. Candidates learn to monitor and enhance the natural learning process and to plan for a variety of appropriate and logically sequenced language learning experiences. Included will be an opportunity for students to develop instructional plans with the assistance of the classroom teacher. Field experience required. This course is required as part of the SC Read to Succeed Legislation for endorsement.
