MUSC-3325 Applied Studio Pedagogy

This course is designed to equip a musician with the skills needed to own and operate a successful private music studio. The classroom sessions for this course cover standard business procedures: (taxes, invoices, software, etc.), writing and implementing a studio policy, strategies for recruiting/retention, promotion, networking, and professional ethics. In addition to classroom content, students will enter into a teaching mentorship with one of the applied faculty members in the Cline School of Music to observe lessons and eventually form a collaborative teaching relationship with the Master-Teacher.
