Departmental Scholarships
Art Scholarship
Scholarships are available and consideration for designation is contingent upon the submission of a current portfolio. The scholarship amounts vary. Students may apply online through our NGU website. Application deadline is March 1st.
Athletic Scholarships
Students with outstanding athletic abilities may be eligible for an athletic scholarship. Students receiving athletic scholarships may not be eligible for some other forms of institutional aid, with the exception of academic scholarships. Interested students should contact the respective coaches. The scholarship amounts vary.
Ensemble Scholarships
NGU recognizes the importance of the arts in the college community and has had a history of outstanding performing ensembles. To ensure this continuity of excellence, the Cline School of Music awards music scholarships to incoming freshmen based on competitive auditions. These scholarships are renewable from year to year if the student fulfills the obligations to the Cline School of Music. The scholarship amounts vary.
First Year Experience Mentor Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to upperclassmen who assist in the FYE program. The application should be obtained from the Student Life Office and returned to them for consideration. If you have questions regarding this scholarship, please contact Vlad Sabou in the Center for Student Success. The scholarship amounts vary.
FUGE Camp Scholarship
Eligible students may receive $250 per semester and must have attended FUGE camp at NGU as a student camper. Staff or leaders are not eligible. This scholarship is renewable for each year of attendance and can be received in addition to other merit scholarships and grants.
Impact 360 Fellow Scholarship
For students enrolling in the Fall of 2024, North Greenville University will award a 50% tuition discount to new students who have successfully completed the Impact 360 Fellow program and enroll as a full-time student on the Tigerville campus. The 50% tuition discount is comprised of any NGU scholarships or grants a student may qualify for. In addition, eligible students may receive academic aid and earned scholarships above the 50% tuition discount. Earned scholarships include fine arts, athletics, and departmental scholarship.
For students enrolling in the Fall of 2025 and beyond, North Greenville University (NGU) will award $8,000 per year for new residential students or $6,000 per year for new commuter students who have successfully completed the Impact 360 Fellow program and enroll full-time in a traditional undergraduate degree-seeking program. In addition, eligible students may receive academic aid and earned scholarships (e.g., fine arts, athletics, and department scholarships) above the Impact 360 scholarship. Impact 360 students are encouraged to reach out to the NGU Undergraduate Admissions Office the fall before potential enrollment at NGU to determine if there are other scholarship opportunities for which they may qualify.
International Student Scholarship
International students attending NGU with an F1 Visa are eligible for this renewable scholarship of up to $3,000 (residents) and $1,500 (commuters).
Marching and Pep Band Scholarship
Students who have marching band or color guard experience may participate. The NGU Marching Band is open to all interested students, music majors, and non-majors. All members of the band will receive a scholarships based on their seniority in the band. Scholarship amounts:
- Year 1: $600
- Year 2: $800
- Year 3: $1,000
- Year 4/5: $1,200
- Assistants: Yearly amount + $200
The NGU Pep Band is open to all interested students, music majors, and non-majors. All members of the band will receive a scholarship based on their participation. The scholarship may range from $300-$500 in the spring semester pending the number of participants and funds available.
Music Scholarship
Music scholarships are available for students who are full-time music majors and show outstanding ability in voice or instrumental performance. Auditions are required and can be arranged through the Cline School of Music. A scholarship holder must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 and grades of B or above in the applied major area and must agree to perform in music organizations assigned by the music faculty. The scholarship amounts vary.
Out of State Residential Scholarship
Out-of-state students who live on campus may be eligible to receive a scholarship up to $2,000 per year. Some exclusions apply depending on other NGU aid received.
Palmetto Boy's State and Girl's State Scholarships
This $1,000 per year scholarship will be awarded to students who have attended Palmetto Boy's/Girl's State programs. This scholarship is renewable for each year of attendance and can be received in addition to other merit scholarships and grants.
School of Communication Scholarship
Scholarships are available to new students and continuing students. Contact the School of Communication for information and deadlines. The scholarship amounts vary.
Student Media Scholarship
Editors and managers of the North Greenville University online media, radio station and TV station are given scholarships. Internships in Mass Communication are for academic credit only and not financial remuneration.
Theatre Scholarship
Theatre scholarships are available for theatre majors who show outstanding ability in acting, directing or technical theatre. Students audition or interview in the spring. To maintain a scholarship, students must earn a C or better in their theatre classes and be active in the department. For specific information, contact the Chair of the Theatre Department.
