History Minor

Overview

The history minor equips students with historical research and writing methods to learn practically about human nature over time (both as made in God’s image and tainted by sin); to understand and empathize with people across cultural, regional, and behavioral differences; to accept with humility their limitations as they engage with the past; and to love people across great distances, even those they have never met. The minor also trains students to critically evaluate a range of sources and so to discern truth from error in a very practical way. All this training gets to the heart of the liberal arts education, freeing students from the everyday errors natural to those who have not explored the richness of human history.
