HIST-3331 The American South

This course will examine the contours of life in the American South since the end of the Civil War. Areas of emphasis will be development of the New South, notably the economic, political, social and cultural developments that have shaped the modern South. Given the South's history of segregation, race is central to understanding the Southern identity. (Western)
