Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (Online)

Overview

The online Criminal Justice program at North Greenville University leads to a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (BACJ). This degree emphasizes Christian values, practical applications and technology within the criminal justice field, and advocacy. Additionally, this program is among the few criminal justice programs that provide an analysis of ethical principles and decision-making in conjunction with Christ-centered insight. This degree prepares students for positions during a time when the criminal justice field is experiencing unprecedented growth.

Criminal Justice Program - Prior Experiential Learning

A student who is in their senior year (90+ hours) of the Criminal Justice program, and has taken at least 15 hours of credit at NGU, may receive credit for prior experiential learning if the student meets the following criteria:

  • The student completes CJUS-4389 Portfolio Development, with a grade of C or higher, in which the requisite hours of experiential learning are documented. No Experiential Learning credit can be granted without successful completion of the course.
  • After consultation with the Program Coordinator, the Portfolio Development Instructor may approve (at his/her sole discretion) prior experiential learning credits (some or all). These credits may count toward Internship hours in the Criminal Justice degree (a maximum of 12 hours).
  • These will not be eligible to count towards the minimum of 30 credits that must be taken at NGU in order to graduate.
