Institutional and Other Aid
North Greenville University scholarships and grants and awards are made available by the generosity of funds provided by individuals, alumni, foundations, and other organizations. These resources are limited, and NGU reserves the right to place a cap on the number of scholarships offered or awarded at any time. Institutional aid is only awarded to students enrolled full-time and may not be used for summer school unless approved by the Director of Financial Aid. Full-time enrollment is defined as 12 credit hours or more each semester.
The purpose of institutional grants and scholarships is to assist students with institutional costs. The purpose is not to allow students to ‘profit’ by attending the university. Therefore, the following formula shall be used to package students for each semester:
Institutional aid plus all outside grants and scholarships may not exceed actual charges for tuition, food and housing, fees, and books. Car registrations fees, fines, and supplies are not included. The Financial Aid Office shall adjust a student’s financial aid as needed to implement this policy.
North Greenville University reserves the right to reduce institutional aid if the student receives additional financial aid after the initial award letter is completed. When a student’s enrollment status (fulltime to part-time or resident to commuter) changes, the financial aid package may be reduced.
