EDU-6308 Nature and Needs of Gifted and Talented Students
In this course, students will explore the nature and needs of gifted and talented learners. Tools for identifying giftedness, curriculum and instructional practices, program models, and advocacy efforts will be explored. Gifted and Talented students have different cognitive, social, and emotional characteristics than students who are not gifted and talented. Understanding these needs, the historical context, and the current research concerning gifted education will be major components in this course.
