EDU-6650 Teaching Reading for Students with Disabilities
An understanding of effective reading and writing instruction, with emphasis on the challenges faces by children with a wide array of disabilities is provided. Major approaches to assessment and remediation in reading are reviewed, enabling students to develop diagnostic-prescriptive programs. In addition, this course provides methods of remediation in oral language, handwriting, spelling, and conceptual writing. Ann appropriate array of strategies to meet a wide range of individual differences across age levels are identified.
