Withdrawing from the University
Any traditional undergraduate student who finds it necessary to withdraw from the University must contact the Office of Campus Ministries and Student Engagement to begin the withdrawal process. NGU Online and Graduate students should contact their academic advisor to begin the withdrawal process. Failure to withdraw officially from courses may result in the student’s GPA dropping significantly as courses are failed because of non-attendance. The grade assigned will be dependent on the date of withdrawal and the quality of work submitted.
Please reference the NGU Refund Policy page for information on how withdrawing may impact your student finances.
Medical Withdrawal
A medical withdrawal can be requested by the student or by the University. The withdrawal must be requested and approved prior to the beginning of exams for the semester requested. If the medical withdrawal is approved, the student will be issued non-punitive withdrawal grades for all ungraded classes.
Student initiated medical withdrawals should be requested in writing. The request must include medical documentation to support the request. The student will be asked to provide permission for University Administration to speak with the doctor of record, if needed. The request should be sent to The Director of Student Accountability where it will be attached to a request form. The request will then be reviewed by the Associate Provost for Administration and Accreditation and the Coordinator for Student Accessibility and ADA Services. After review, the student will be notified of the decision and appropriate grades will be applied. All charges for the semester will be calculated based on the published refund table and federal guidelines for withdrawal.
