Bachelor of Science in Sport Management

Overview

Sport Management is a field of business that involves the organization and administration of sports teams, events, athletes, and facilities. The Sport Management curriculum provides students with a foundational knowledge and skills necessary to become invaluable assets to organization like professional sport teams, intercollegiate athletic departments, county and city recreation departments, campus recreation departments, and sport facilities. The leadership, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills a student develops through the Sport Management curriculum will enable them to turn their passion for sports into a rewarding profession.

Students are provided the opportunity to apply the skills they gained in the classroom while gaining practical experience through the completion of a semester-long internship in a sport-related field of their choice.

The Bachelor of Science in Sport Management prepares students for a variety of careers in the sport industry including sport event management, sport marketing, sport facility management, athletic administration, campus recreation programming, coaching, and sport ministry programming.
